Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Prof. Dr. Afrah Abd Maktouf, and under the slogan
(Imam al-Mahdi, may God hasten his reappearance, the Awaited Hope),
the Department of Qur'anic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Education for Girls held two joyful festivals, one for morning-study students and the other for evening-study students, on the occasion of the birth of Imam al-Hujja al-Muntazar (may God hasten his noble reappearance), on Monday, 2 / 2 / 2026.
The two festivals opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by the Iraqi national anthem and then the recitation of Surat al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq's righteous martyrs. Prof. Dr. Abdul-Ridha Ibrahim Jabr then delivered a speech on this blessed occasion, in which he expressed the greatness of this anniversary and the meanings of faith and lofty spiritual values it carries.
The two festivals included poetry recitals and religious songs expressing feelings of joy and loyalty on this occasion, and the events concluded with the students chanting the song (Salam Ya Mahdi) amid a faithful atmosphere filled with reverence and joy.
The two festivals were attended by the Dean of the College, a delegation from the University of Shatrah, the Associate Deans, the heads of departments, and a number of the college's teaching staff and students, who praised the importance of holding such events in strengthening religious and cultural awareness among the students.
