The College of Veterinary Medicine held the defence of the master's thesis of the student Ahmed Rasheed Sajid in the Branch of Microbiology on Monday, 15 December 2025, for his thesis entitled:
«Biochemical and Bacteriological Characteristics of Urinary Infection Associated with Infectious Stones».
The thesis aimed to study the relationship between urinary tract infections and kidney stones by investigating the causative bacterial species and their antibiotic susceptibility patterns, as well as evaluating some biochemical markers. The study relied on collecting urine and blood samples from patients with urinary infections with and without stones, and carrying out the necessary bacteriological and biochemical tests and molecular techniques.
After an extensive discussion of the subject of the study, the thesis was approved with the grade of Excellent, in appreciation of the student's scientific efforts and his ability to defend his thesis.
